What You Need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Step 1: Locate the EA File
After downloading the Expert Advisor, locate the .ex4 file on your computer. This is the compiled EA file that MetaTrader can run.
Step 2: Open MetaTrader 4 Data Folder
1. Launch MetaTrader 4
2. Click on **File** in the top menu
3. Select **Open Data Folder**
4. A Windows Explorer window will open
Step 3: Navigate to Experts Folder
Inside the data folder:
1. Open the **MQL4** folder
2. Open the **Experts** folder
3. This is where all EAs are stored
Step 4: Copy the EA File
Copy your .ex4 file into the Experts folder.
Step 5: Restart MetaTrader 4
Close and reopen MetaTrader 4 to load the new EA.
Step 6: Enable Automated Trading
1. Click on **Tools** > **Options**
2. Go to the **Expert Advisors** tab
3. Check "Allow automated trading"
4. Check "Allow DLL imports" (if required by EA)
5. Click **OK**
Step 7: Attach EA to Chart
1. Open the **Navigator** panel (Ctrl+N)
2. Expand **Expert Advisors**
3. Find your EA in the list
4. Drag and drop it onto your chart
5. Configure settings in the popup window
6. Click **OK**
Step 8: Verify EA is Running
Look for a smiley face icon in the top-right corner of the chart. If you see a frown or no icon, check your AutoTrading button and EA settings.
